The Voice Season 2 – Two to Watch

After all the drama of The Bachelor’s Hometown dates last night, I was happy to hear some great talent on The Voice. Are you watching this season? I shared a video of my two favorite blind auditions so far, and here are two others I’m adding to my pick list:

Jamie Lono, the Sandwich Maker, singing and playing “Folsom Prison Blues”

Mathai, the destined for medicine-turned-musician:

Do you have any favorites so far?

The Voice Season 2

Did you watch The Voice last night? I loved the show last season and this season is looking to be just as good. Here are my two favorite blind auditions so far:

Who are your favorites so far?

P.S. In other music-related television show watching: did you also see the premiere of Smash last night?  It’s starting a little slow but I adore Debra Messing so it’s staying on the DVR.

Christmas Party Playlist

Merry Christmas, everyone!  Hope you are enjoying days filled with joy, kindness and love.  This year I feel that I’ve hardly had enough time to really dwell in the spirit of the season but I’ve been trying to find small ways to celebrate each day by starting my morning with worship music and Christmas songs.  Here are a few of my favorite songs to add to your Christmas Party Playlist:

  1. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas She & Him
  2. No Christmas for Me Zee Avi
  3. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Jack Johnson
  4. Santa Baby Kellie Pickler
  5. All I Want for Christmas Matt Costa
  6. Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree Brenda Lee
  7. Let It Be Christmas Alan Jackson
  8. All I Want for Christmas Is You Mariah Carey
  9. Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Dean Martin
  10. How Great Thou Art Carrie Underwood

Also, I really wanted to share this video from Saddleback Church.  Mumbles and I saw this performed live at church a few years ago – it gave me chills to watch and hear and sing and I feel the same way everytime I watch it now (which is often).  I love the stillness and innocence of the song paired with the stomp-style dramatic rhythym.  Please enjoy Little Drummer Boy:
