I’m not one for practical jokes on April Fool’s Day but I am a fan of cleverness and Mario Kart so I found this video to be quite entertaining. I can only imagine how funny it would be to see a guy dressed in a Mario costume driving around in a go kart. It would’ve been even better if he got Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, and Toad in on it too.
Happy First Day of Spring! As it usually is, our California weather didn’t quite get the memo and I’m all bundled up today but then, I’m always cold. Our very pleasant winter has brought us some gorgeous blooms and flowers. I’m certainly not a green thumb, but I’ve been inspired lately and have asked Mumbles to put some new plantings for our front yard area on his “honey do” list. Here are just a few snaps I’ve taken recently near home and at work…
If you’ve got some lovely flora photos to share, please do — tag me on Pinterest or Instagram!
Every day when I leave for work my heart breaks a little bit saying goodbye to our boy, Baxter. I can’t help it — he’s just too gosh darn cute! Here’s what our little guy has been up to the past few months…
Finding a new friend in our cream colored shag rug…
Waiting for Mumbles to get home…
Being adorable at my parents’ house…
Causing mischief after pulling a Houdini out of his crate and enjoying an afternoon chocolate snack…
Being adorable at home…
Hanging out with Mumbles in his travel crate in Havasu…
Aren’t coincidences funny? In a planning meeting at work on Tuesday someone mentioned the documentary Happy, as a researcher from the university who studies Happiness (and wrote The How of Happiness) is featured in the film. Wouldn’t you know that not twenty minutes after that conversation, whilst munching on my lunch, I was reading a post on one of my favorite blogs, A Cup of Jo (this post and this post) about the movie?
A happy coincidence, indeed. So, yes, let’s talk about happiness. For me it’s…
watching Baxter run in crazy fast circles in the grass.
cuddling on the couch.
getting lost in a good book.
eating every last crumb of my mom’s coffee cake.
singing in the car.
meals shared with great friends.
watching my dad laugh really hard.
time on the lake in Havasu.
and being married to Mumbles.
What makes you happy?
P.S. There’s also an iPhone App called Live Happy based on psychologist Dr. Sonja Lyubormirsky’s research that you can use to boost your happiness throughout the day.
