Need some motivation on this fine Monday? Check out this interview with the founder (and “chief troublemaker”) of Nasty Gal Vintage, Sophia Amoruso. This quote really caught my attention:
My dad said at dinner the other night something that I really loved — he said, ‘Hope is not a strategy,’ which is so true. The best things happen with not only hope, but ingenuity, self-awareness, and a lot of elbow grease. That’s when the real magic happens.
Her book #GIRLBOSS comes out tomorrow. Looks like a fun read!
Have you been following the recovery of Bruno, the Anaheim Police K9 who was shot in the line of duty? I’ve been tracking his progress via Facebook updates from here and here. I just love hearing about all the love and support this courageous guy is getting.
If you’re as super obsessed with your dog as I am (or looking to become a crazy pup parent), you might want to head on over to the OC Marketplace tomorrow and Sunday for Spring Pet Days. I got word from those helpful SoCal Honda dealers that they’ll be on site giving away some goodies like leashes and collars and helping you pick a furry new friend. Kevin has forbid that I attend because I’d probably come home with three. And Lord knows Baxter is already quite the handful (every morning I have to give him a quick bath because he goes out romping in the yard and comes back all muddy!) but sometimes I do think he’d love a companion to hang with while we’re at work. Maybe once we get a little better adjusted to life with a baby (read: more sleep). If you go, say hi to the dogs (and the helpful Honda folks in blue shirts) and let me know if you come home with a new furry family member!
I was contacted by SoCal Honda Dealers asking for my help in spreading the news about the event, which I’m happy to do because it sounds awesome. I did not receive payment or product in exchange for this post (though that would’ve been nice) and all thoughts are my own.

Bruno, the police K9, is getting lots of love while recovering after being shot in line of duty.
I tried my first cronut (cresnut, dossant, whatever you want to call it). Crossants + Donuts + Custard + Strawberries…how is it that these have only just come to be in the last year? I’m hooked.

Happy Friday, friends! I’ll be lounging around this weekend trying to recover from my revolving sickness. Hopefully it’ll be rainy – perfect couch and dog cuddling weather!

Tips for a messy bed. I totally embrace the messy bed look. Must add more layers!
Would you have taken Marriage 101 in college? Mumbles and I met when I was a freshman (whoa) so I probably would have. What about a class on being less selfish?
One woman’s posthumous advice for her daughter. Hilarious. This part made me laugh out loud because it’s totally something my dad would advise me to do:
“…always pick up worms off the pavement and put them on the grass. They’re having a bad day, and they’re good for… the earth or something (ask Daddy more about this; am a bit sketchy).”
Mumbles and I are getting started on landscaping. I want this huge slide built into the side of our hill.
