Enjoy these fun finds from around the web this month:
Meet Hands Solo, an injured pup who walks on his front two feet.
Never thought of wood as sunken treasure but it sure is pretty.
Made me laugh because that’s totally me whenever I drive Mumbles’s super fast car.
This in-car feature almost makes me want to become a minivan mom. Almost.
Would you ever sign a pre-pregnancy contract?
Children’s Hospital of Orange County needs blood.
The interior dividers in this weekender bag are genius. Adding it to my Dear Santa list.
How to focus.
Like wine + animals? Here’s the perfect event for you on August 2 in OC.
Speaking of wine…mmmm…sangria.
Still love this song.
A sneak peek of the 2015 Ikea catalog. Get ready.
And how sweet is this: some Ikea stores are advertising adoptable dogs in their stores.
These nannies know how to kick ass.
Re2pect. The Derek Jeter commercial that makes you tear up a little.
What does “like a girl” mean to you?

I love this clever shirt from National Mill Dog Rescue, an incredible organization that rescues dogs from puppy mills. They have 10 days left to their goal of selling 500 t-shirts so hurry and get one for yourself and everyone you know. Because when you wear it people will be like “oh, hey, that person is funny AND they like dogs. That’s good people right there.”
Visit the National Mill Dog Rescue website to learn more about their mission, see photos of furry friends, and how you can help them.
P.S. A photo of Baxter’s sad face urging you to adopt a furbaby like him (he was a stray).
21 of Maya Angelou’s best quotes, and one of my favorites:
“My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return.”
How having a child expands your world.
Two college students anonymously “vandalize” school chalkboards with incredible illustrations every week. Check out their Etsy shop for prints and Behance for detailed shots. What talent!
Just bought my first pair of TOMS. I’m so late to that party but when I couldn’t stop thinking about these beauties and they sold out, I needed to fill the void in my closet immediately.
Daydreaming about spending my December birthday in Hawaii. With lots of friends. So we can afford to rent the Dolphin House.
The right way to apply bright lipstick.
Recline, don’t ‘Lean In’ — this woman says we need to fight for our right to lean back and put our feet up! (More on that here, here and here.)
If you’re in OC, check out the grand opening of the Anaheim Packing District this weekend. I’ve been hearing about this since my intern days working at the City of Anaheim — can’t wait to check out all the new eateries! There’s even an outdoor eating amphitheater – perfect for summer picnics!
This hat (below) for lounging poolside and lazy days on the lake.

Need some motivation on this fine Monday? Check out this interview with the founder (and “chief troublemaker”) of Nasty Gal Vintage, Sophia Amoruso. This quote really caught my attention:
My dad said at dinner the other night something that I really loved — he said, ‘Hope is not a strategy,’ which is so true. The best things happen with not only hope, but ingenuity, self-awareness, and a lot of elbow grease. That’s when the real magic happens.
Her book #GIRLBOSS comes out tomorrow. Looks like a fun read!
Have you read anything inspiring lately?
And you need this print. What a lovely reminder.
Have you been following the recovery of Bruno, the Anaheim Police K9 who was shot in the line of duty? I’ve been tracking his progress via Facebook updates from here and here. I just love hearing about all the love and support this courageous guy is getting.
If you’re as super obsessed with your dog as I am (or looking to become a crazy pup parent), you might want to head on over to the OC Marketplace tomorrow and Sunday for Spring Pet Days. I got word from those helpful SoCal Honda dealers that they’ll be on site giving away some goodies like leashes and collars and helping you pick a furry new friend. Kevin has forbid that I attend because I’d probably come home with three. And Lord knows Baxter is already quite the handful (every morning I have to give him a quick bath because he goes out romping in the yard and comes back all muddy!) but sometimes I do think he’d love a companion to hang with while we’re at work. Maybe once we get a little better adjusted to life with a baby (read: more sleep). If you go, say hi to the dogs (and the helpful Honda folks in blue shirts) and let me know if you come home with a new furry family member!
Have you ever adopted or rescued a pet? Here’s how we met Baxter.
Happy Friday, friends!
I was contacted by SoCal Honda Dealers asking for my help in spreading the news about the event, which I’m happy to do because it sounds awesome. I did not receive payment or product in exchange for this post (though that would’ve been nice) and all thoughts are my own.
A few of my favorite finds from around the web this month:
How to wrangle a fitted sheet. Seriously, why is this always soooooo hard?
Give this kid a cupcake already!
The Milwaukee Brewers added a stray dog to their roster. Adorableness ensues.
The famous voice of the movies has passed away.
Do dogs react to magic?
I love when Humans of New York asks “”If you could give one piece of advice to a large group of people, what would it be?” (here’s one of the best answers)
Soldier carries Flat Stanley for 10 years before returning it to student.
Bruno, the police K9, is getting lots of love while recovering after being shot in line of duty.
I tried my first cronut (cresnut, dossant, whatever you want to call it). Crossants + Donuts + Custard + Strawberries…how is it that these have only just come to be in the last year? I’m hooked.
