Splurge vs. Steal: Camo Pants

I’m really late to this party (what’s new, right?  I also just bought my first pair of TOMS…) which is probably why I lucked out and scored these broken-in straight khaki camo pants from Gap for like $18 using a promo code.  They’re super comfortable, casual and on sale right now for half the price of these ones from Loft (that’s without using a promo code).  The Loft pair are darker but the fit looks great and they’ve got fabulous reviews.  The real splurge is this super skinny pair by True Religion.  Probably not worth it, but if you’re an avid True Religion wearer, by all means.

Other amazing sale styles include this camo cargo pair from Ralph Lauren, these amazing white camo pants by Sanctuary – so summery! – and similar to these True Religion ones (still on sale but way pricier), and lastly these adorable pink camo pants (sounds tacky but they look quite fun) by Joe’s Jeans for the little ladies (or the lucky ones that can squeeze into them).

Are you tardy to the camo party with me or so over it already that I should be ashamed of myself?

Splurge vs. Steal: Silver Metallic Oxfords

I’ve been holding out for just the right pair of oxfords and while I love the look of a tan or cognac leather that will only get better with time (style stolen from the men’s section), I also love the idea of something that stands out a bit more.  I’ve had my eyes on these J. Crew beauties, but the price tag is a bit much.  I’m sure the quality is fantastic, though. I could live in my bronze  J. Crew loafers — they’re the first shoes I go to in the morning but since these are such statement shoes, I don’t know that I’d wear them as often (though, they’d spark up just about any outfit if you’re looking for a good excuse to splurge!).  Luckily, the other day my friend Kacee from Life With Lipstick On (you may also know her as the beauty genius of Kacee Geoffroy Makeup Design) was featured on Inspired by This and included a similar pair from Zara for about one-third of the price! In any case, here are two darling choices if you’re in the market for some shiny new soles:

Splurge vs. Steal: Tassel Keychains

I couldn’t stop thinking about this darling little tassel (found via) as a new accessory for my new cobalt blue handbag.  But, at $32 a pop for such a small accessory, I figured the bag was fine on its own.  That is, until I saw yesterday that Brickyard Buffalo (I almost wrote Blue Buffalo — that’s the dog food we feed our boy, Baxter. Ha!) has a nifty little sale on similar-looking accessories for only $3.49!  What!!  I bought six.  I couldn’t decide which color would complement cobalt best so I scooped up all the ones I liked most (moss, watermelon, mint, poppy, mustard and rust) and figured I could swap them out or give the rest away as gifts.

The Brickyard Buffalo deals usually sell out before the deals end so be sure to grab one (or six) while you can, otherwise, splurge a bit on the gorgeous Blair Ritchey tassel keychains, which come in small and large sizes — they’re a perfect little bit of flair for wallets, clutches, handbags, backpacks, keychains, duffels and more!

Splurge vs. Steal: Ombre Fur Throw

Yesterday I shared my current obsession with faux fur and thought you might enjoy these lovely faux fur throws in gorgeous gray ombre — I’ve seen them in person and they’re both perfect for cozy cuddling and glamorous gifting!

Splurge vs. Steal: Bow & Mesh Rings

I’ve been coveting this dainty silver bow ring from Tiffany’s for quite some time and was delighted to find a similar little treasure today, a new arrival from my favorite local boutique Ruche.  The Tiffany ring design comes in different styles such as gold and with diamonds but the least expensive is the sterling silver at $250, compared to the budget find of $13.99. Then, to my surprise, I noticed that they also have this charming mesh ring, comparable to the uber popular Tiffany Somerset ring.   Of course, if you’re looking for something to last forever, it might be worth the investment to go the Tiffany route but either way — what darling gifts!
